Orchid Big Band
Co-founder and conductor of Orchid Big Band, a professional large ensemble of 19 musicians from the Déluge collective, offering an original repertoire of new creations.
Orchid Big Band is the missing link between Thad Jones and Stravinsky. Drawing inspiration from the golden age of jazz big bands, European art music, and world music traditions, this formation, born from the Déluge collective, playfully subverts norms and aesthetics to deliver an uninhibited reimagining of the jazz big band.

Symphonic Compositions
Active as a tutti double bassist with the classical orchestra OCP and deeply enriched by the vast repertoire, Thomas Julienne composed five symphonic pieces between 2006 and 2014, all premiered by OCP under the baton of Richard Beswick. Three of these works were created in collaboration with the reQ quartet.
